Internationally trained retina specialist with more than 25 years of experience of dedicated retinal care.
Born in Norway and raised in Germany, Dr. Freisberg completed medical school in Cologne and Marburg, Germany. During his training he gained additional clinical experience in the United States at Emory University and New York University. He later completed his ophthalmology residency at New York University followed by a vitreoretinal fellowship at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, home of the Diabetic Retinopathy Study (DRS) and Early Treatment Diabetic Retinopathy Study (ETDRS).
Has practiced in Norway, Pittsburgh, Madison, and Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he founded a group retina practice. After retiring from private practice, he served at Charité University in Berlin, one of Europe’s most renowned medical institutions, where he focused on retina and ocular tumors.
